Zeiss® A series: entry-level lenses, materials and production are all in China, moderately priced, cost-effective, generally using Zeiss® LotuTec® coating or Permaclear coating. (Permaclear® coating has a 20% higher light transmittance than LotuTec® coating).

The Zeiss® LotuTec® coating is a classic surface treatment for Zeiss® lenses, renowned for its exceptional oleophobic and hydrophobic properties. Its smooth and delicate surface effectively blocks oil penetration, demonstrating outstanding oil and water repellency. Water droplets landing on the lens surface quickly slide off without leaving traces, ensuring the lens remains consistently clean and transparent, reducing fog formation, and delivering high-contrast, ultra-clear imaging.

Characteristics
  • Oleophobic and Hydrophobic: The surface treatment technology of LotuTec® coating prevents oil from penetrating the lens, and water droplets behave like dew on a lotus leaf, sliding off to keep the lens clean.
  • Easy Maintenance: Due to its remarkably smooth surface, cleaning is simple, fast, and protective. It effectively repels dust and oil, making the lenses easy to keep spotless.
  • High Light Transmission: The multi-layer anti-reflective film design allows 99% of natural light to pass through the lens, providing high contrast and ultra-clear imaging performance.
  • Anti-static: Features anti-static properties, which reduce the static attraction of dust and microscopic particles, thereby extending the overall lifespan of the lens.
